As part of the comprehensive redevelopment of Pwllheli Harbour and its surrounds, Royal Haskoning designed and supervised the construction of new facilities to support the local fishing fleet. A new fish off loading quay was constructed in steel sheet piling with timber fendering and safety kerbs, safety/access ladders and mooring bollards.
The new concrete decking was fitted with a heavy duty surface water drainage system to take fish washings away from the quay edge, through interceptors to the mains drainage.
A boat lifting facility and floating fuelling facility were built into the new quay for use by both the fishing fleet and a new marina. The fishing fleet were also provided with floating pontoon berths away from the shore to give secure storage and mooring.
